Tandoori Paneer Tikka Recipe

Ingredients:

- 250 grams paneer, cut into cubes

- 1 cup thick yogurt (hung curd)

- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

- 1 tablespoon besan (gram flour)

- 1 tablespoon

Kashmiri red chili powder (for color)

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

- 1 teaspoon cumin powder

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

- Salt to taste

- 2 tablespoons oil

- Fresh cilantro leaves (coriander) for garnish

- Onion and bell pepper (capsicum) cubes (optional, for skewering with paneer)

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine thick yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, besan, Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, lemon juice, salt, and oil. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

2. Add the paneer cubes to the marinade and gently toss them until they are well coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours. You can marinate it overnight for even better flavor.

3. If using onion and bell pepper, you can alternately skewer them with the marinated paneer cubes for grilling or baking.

4. If grilling:

   - Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.

   - Grease the grill or baking tray lightly with oil.

   - Place the marinated paneer cubes (and veggies if using) on the grill or tray.

   - Grill or bake for about 10-15 minutes, turning the cubes occasionally, until they are golden brown and slightly charred on the edges.

5. If cooking on a stovetop:

   - Heat a non-stick pan or grill pan over medium heat.

   - Add a little oil to the pan and place the marinated paneer cubes (and veggies if using) on it.

   - Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.

6. Once done, remove the Paneer Tikka from the heat and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.

7. Serve hot Tandoori Paneer Tikka with mint chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges. It can also be served with naan, roti, or as a side dish with rice.

Enjoy your homemade Tandoori Paneer Tikka!
